Meet Greta

My painting odyssey began in 2004 on a trip to Franklin, North Carolina where I met my best friends grandmother who painted on every surface of her home. She handed me paints and directed me to some old church doors. I went home to Vermont and read art books, art magazines,art online, asked questions to fellow artists and created so many pieces the walls were covered.

I was “discovered” by my daughter who decided to write an article for the local paper about me and said “Ma now you need to have a show” With this edict I set out and successfully landed my first solo show at the Walkover Gallery in Bristol.

Painting with oil on canvas, my work re-imagines the faces, places, and objects of the world around me in bold and intriguing colors.

I live in Batavia, Illinois with my husband and 3 children.
