Nature Mask Class

GENEVA, IL — Step away from your everyday worries and take notice of the beautiful world around us through a nature mask class.

The Forest Preserve District of Kane County will host artist Greta Bell at their “Miniature Nature Masks” class. Bell will lead a walk to find materials that you will use to create your mask. You might discover animal teeth, hair, bones, feathers, acorns, sticks or seeds. In many cultures, masks represent spirits of animals and elements in nature. They can also project feelings of oneness, or even reflect processes like metamorphosis.

The class will take place on Thursday, Aug. 3 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Creek Bend Nature Center located within LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve at 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles. There is a fee of $15 per person.

Advance registration is required. Call 630-444-3190 or to register.
